Moves in Off-Season

I’m bored.  No, really, I am really, really bored.  No football, nothing to look forward to and plan my Sunday’s around.  C’mon, don’t even act like the Olympics and Ice Dancing can hold my attention, you know better.  Even hockey, while a great game USA-CAN, was difficult because I felt totally WRONG cheering against Crosby.
*sigh*
So, [...]

Just plain hell. Not hell unleashed. Steelers lose to Raiders.

I know, it took me a few days to write a post.  First, it took me a full day to get over this pathetic loss of the highest sucktitude.  And second, I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to say or how I wanted to say it.
So, here goes…and bear with me, this post will [...]

Making The Not-So-Special Special Teams Special Again?

So in an attempt to fix the Steelers special teams unit,  Corey Ivy  (CB) and Rocky Boiman (LB) were signed yesterday.  Both have Super Bowl rings with other teams which could mean something, I suppose.  Ivy most recently played with the Ravens (2006-2008) and had 46 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 7 solo tackles on special teams.  [...]

The Black&Gold Rules

Dear Chad:
Rule 1060 says that Ike + Will + Deshea + Ryan + Troy + Ty and any combination thereof, will not only cover you, but will cover you so tight you won’t even know which way to run.  There will be black and gold on all sides.
Sorry dude.  Better luck next week.
Love,

Old School: Mean Joe Greene Finally Receives Award for Coke Commercial

In a special ceremony to be held this Sunday before the Steelers play the Bengals, Mean Joe Greene will finally be honored for his work in the famous 1979 Coca-Cola commercial.  This ad has been lauded as one of the top TV ads of all time and this fall marks the 30th anniversary since the [...]

Beating the Broncos

It’s mid-point of the season and the stretch to the Super Bowl begins.  This week, the Steelers should be healthy and rested coming off their bye week, but let’s hope that they all sat in front of their TVs this past Sunday and watched the Ravens whoop the Broncos – all while taking good notes.
The [...]

It’s not just the hair…well, actually, maybe it is.

I’m so completely late on posting this…but I well, whatever…enjoy…
So, everyone knows the sports marketing industry is HUGE, right? It accounts for more than $50 billion dollars and approximately $100 billion globally….in other words, athletes schlepping products is BIG BUSINESS. Michael Jordan was king of endorsements (Nike+Hanes, etc); then there was Shaquille O’Neill (those heated [...]

Grace in losing

No one plays a game to lose. No one does. Last night watching both my teams (Pens and Cavs) lose, I was reminded how important good sportsmanship is, not just to the game, but to life.  After the Cavs lost in game 6 to Orlando, Lebron walked off the court, did not shake hands and [...]

The Boom

So, for all you twitterholics, I am sure you have been watching the smack talk between @steelergurl and @cardstweets.  It’s relentless.  But another Super Steelers fan shared a great pic with me and this goes out to @cardstweets.  So, Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!
All I gotta say is…..
BOOM Baby, BOOM!

Winning the AFC Championship – 10 yards at a time

Let me open about the AFC Championship game by saying that I do hope Willis McGahee is ok, my prayers go out to him and his family.  That was a tough hit, but not unexpected in a game between the Ravens and Steelers.
So, how do you win BIG games?  Ten yards at a time.  You [...]
