Cassel gets long term deal
Tuesday, 14 July 2009 12:11

The Kansas City Star is reporting that Matt Cassel has signed a long term contract that will keep him with the Chiefs until the 2014 season.  The deal is worth $63 million ($28 million guaranteed).  The team is essentially locking up the guy they consider the franchise quarterback who could finally bring some stability to their offense.  Getting this deal done before camp should make things much smoother for both sides moving forward.

Wow, one good to great season and he hit the lottery. It pays to be Matt Cassel. Now all he's got to do is live up to the hype leading the Chiefs offense that has lost it's one main weapon, Tony Gonzalez. For that kind of money, he'll get every chance to do so.

Pioli is a smart guy so he must see something, McDaniels wanted him also so it cannot be too far off but I am skeptical, that makes him one of the highest paid QBs in the league.

That said, I hope he sucks...welcome to the AFC West bitch
