Broncos Season End Hangover
Thursday, 28 January 2010 12:21

This season was a crazy one. Roller coaster ride isn't really a term i would use to describe the season. More like the Tower of Terror, where you ride high and anticipation and anxiety runs through your body. Next thing you know your dropping at an uncontrolled speed and it makes you sick! Now that the season is over i still feel sick. Things aren't looking so good in Bronco Nation from eyes. Brandon Marshall seems all but gone, Elvis Dumerville could be on his way to Miami, Tony Scheffler seems to be on his way with Peyton Hillis. Just like last year at this time i feel like i have no reason to be excited. I cant stand Josh McDaniels and still refuse to include the word "coach" in front of his name. Usually around this time i get excited for the draft but after last years debacle i don't know what to expect. Just doesn't seem like McDaniels is very rational with his picks. Seems like whatever the logical choice is for a decision, you can expect him to do the opposite. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how much more I can be disappointed and let down this upcoming year and say goodbye to all my favorite players.

I can promise Marshall that he'll be welcomed with open arms here in Bmore. Losing Dumerville would be a dagger!

I think you are overreacting to be honest, but I also notice those that hate the coach don't give him much of a chance. It is pretty well documented that he admitted they had a poor draft last year and were not prepared and that was a priority this time, that alone should encourage you.

Dumervil will be a priority for the Broncos I imagine, they will at a minimum tender him so we get value. I want him to stay, but people forget that he isn't that great in run defense. Scheffler and Hillis...seriously? Buh bye.

Marshall I would like to stay, but I just am not sure the risk/reward is worth it. I am here to tell you, we would be INSANE not to take a 1st and a 3rd for him, then work on the things that this team needs more than a prima dona WR that plays until he locks in a pro bowl spot, then gets hurt magically. Must be the warm weather, his hammy seems fine in Hawaii.

You should also give credit where credit is due, McD NAILED free agency last season...nobody can say otherwise. Look for more of the same this year, plus a solid draft and I think with or without Marshall we are better in 2010 than this past season. The popular thing to do is slam McD for not making the playoffs. All he did was match the great Shanahan's record with a much tougher schedule and entirely new system on both sides, and exceed Shanny's 07' record. That is with most people, myself included, pegging the 2009 team for 6 or less wins.

Sorry if I seem annoyed, but I am just a little tired of the short-sighted attitude the McDaniels haters have. Me? I am sticking by the guy, you won't catch me hating the team I bleed for.
