This month in NFL numbers (12/11 - 06/12)
Tuesday, 08 December 2009 01:07

5 – Games won by the hapless Titans since they started 0-6 and since they named forgotten man, Vince Young, as starting quarterback over grandpa Kerry Collins.

29 – TDs thrown by Drew Brees already this season.

396 – Yards given up by the Steelers to the Oakland Raiders. Yep, the Oakland Raiders.

4 – Games lost in a row by the Steelers. Good news for the Ravens if they hadn’t already lost 6 this season and if Cincinnati hadn’t been over performing.

12 – Games the Colts and Saints have gone undefeated this season. I guarantee that only one of them at best will make it to the Super Bowl.

185 – Points conceded by the Bengals this season. Best in the NFL.

21-6 – TD to INT ratio of MVP candidate Phil Rivers. Would still rather have Drew Brees mind.

1,509 – Yards rushed for by Chris Johnson. Not including the 322 through the air.

4 – Key running backs injured during Week 10. Brown, Turner, Addai and Benson.

99.9 – Percent of running backs who would have done the same as MJD against my Jets and take a knee to win a game.

0 – Number of people who saw the Lions and Browns combining for 75 points in Week 11.

14 – Points scored by Tony Romo and his ‘Boys over Weeks 10 and 11.

3 – Teams the Oakland Raiders had no right to beat in the Bengals, Eagles and Steelers.

$20,000 – Chad Johnson fined for ‘bribing’ an official with a dollar bill. Surely Goodell should have fined Chad a dollar to gain some much needed public backing?

3 – TDs given up by Darrelle Revis against the League’s best receivers. That’s you Andre Johnson, Randy Moss (x2), Marques Colston, Terrell Owens (x2), Steve Smith and Mike Sims-Walker. Chad Johnson, Roddy White and Reggie Wayne to come.

2,011 – Yards caught by the frankly ridiculously talented pair of Randy Moss and Wes Welker.

8 – Interceptions thus far by Bills rookie, Jairus Byrd. Immense, despite him playing against Sanchez.

13 – Unanswered points scored by the Saints at Washington to remain unbeaten.

4 – Weeks left this season for teams to make their final playoff pushes. Go Jets!!

...and in addition...

3 – Undefeated teams who did not make the NCAA BCS Title Game. Hard luck, Cincy, Boise State and TCU.

1 – Number of College game days left for me to listen to broadcasters woo over Tim Tebow.

100% - Of me in conflict by wanting a Nick Saban led Alabama to beat Texas in January.

Couple random thoughts:

Revis is a stud. Good job by the Jets drafting him. You need a shut down corner playing in the Pats division every week.

2011 yards by Moss and Welker is great...but I am of the opinion that if the Pats got back to spreading it around (hello, Ben Watson) they would be more successful. They have lost thier way.

Was just coming to say the same thing about Revis-he is stepping up big time.
