The Baltimore Ravens twitter feed has just begun advertising for the launch of offensive tackle Jared Gaither’s new blog site. Coincidentally Gaither’s blog has the same HTML format as the Ravens website.
The site is decked out with photos, a blog, a shop where you can buy Jared Gaither71 t-shirts and even a Twitter feed.
Now, so far there have only been two posts on the site, none of which admit to giving away automobiles or long essays complaining to the black community about why his tv show quite frankly was canceled.
However, what Gaither does admit to-is being able to throw down in the kitchen.
“I make a great steak and shrimp. I can cook a mean Jambalaya. Red beans and rice … everything. I did a Jock Chef video last year for ESPN where I made steak and eggs.
Growing up, my mom and sister would cook. They were good, but I think I’ve surpassed them.
I started really getting serious about cooking back in college. I would cook in my room and guys used to come over and I would cook for them.
Now, I cook for teammates all the time. Troy Smith, Demetrius Williams and Le’Ron McClain all live pretty close and they always come over and get a bite to eat.
There’s nothing better than barbecue when my teammates come over. Three packs of chicken … a couple of packs of hamburgers … a couple of packs of ribs … and my special sauce. Always gotta have that special sauce from scratch.“
Sounds like Gaither needs to be challenged by Bobby Flay on Throwdown.
Now this is not quite the Chris Cooley blog, and to be honest it would be hard to even come close, however, it will be interesting to see how much Gaither really posts on this or if this is just a PR attempt.
