Mind Pinball Goes On Vacation
Greetings, my few readers! I am blogging from Ocean City, MD while I’m on vacation. This was not a planned post, as I had no intention on bringing my laptop to the beach for vacation, but the Mrs. said that I should bring it to play my music. Well, apparently that was all I needed to hear, so hear I am and here it is.
In all the years that our family has been coming to the beach, we never rented a condo unit in a building with wireless internet access. That streak has come to an end with our rental in the Irene condominum building (that’s a strange name for a building, IMHO). The unit is nice and has a large living room area. It has three televisions, which is a necessity when you have two daughters and parents who all want to watch something different in the downtime between beach excursions, trips to the boardwalk, shopping and miniature golf. My wife has already expressed her displeasure with the cooking utensils in the room, saying that not even a homeless person would use them. So I have a feeling that some money will be going toward some items to cook with.
Even though the weather was less than pleasant (it rained right after we arrived), we are hoping that it will get better as the week progresses. There are only so many trips a person can make to the exercise/game room, or the indoor pool that are on the premises. I can’t wait to see the Trimper’s Amusement park, to get the Thrasher’s fries and yet another Boog Powell barbeque sandwich and to win the annual minature golf tournament yet again.
One of the gripes that we have is that it takes a lot of dollars to spend a week at the beach. In fact, I just swallowed hard to acquire the internet access after believing that it was included as part of the rental fee. We were also led to believe that parking was included, only to find out that the $30 “registration” fee was for a parking permit! That is in addition to whatever we decide to let our money go toward for the next seven days. While this is a nice unit and the building has amenities that we are not used to having, this may be a one and done as far as staying here.
I’m not sure how much blogging I will be doing from here (I am on vacation, after all!), but if something comes to mind and I have the time and energy to write, chances are I will post something. Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend.

I hope your vacation is full of sunshine, MASN, relaxation, and very nice cookware.
Thankfully, OC gets MASN via Comcast cable. I miss my DirecTV though, but it’s only for one week, so I think I’ll survive.
Tell me what you're thinking...
