I hadn't heard the Merle rumor. I had heard the rumor Merle was supposed to become the Governor, but that got squashed pretty quickly. I'd love to see pissed off Merle fucking with Daryl's head.

Unrelated but related... Watched Boondock Saints (love that f-ing movie) again this weekend and never put two and two together that the other brother is Daryl.

I thought the second one was pretty damn funny actually. The Mexican guy was a little bit too goofy but he had some funny scenes.

I do too and I'm thinking his role improves with Shane gone but the only thing I don't like is the "I don't care about the group/here, let me help the group" attitude every other episode they seem to be writing for his character.

As much as I enjoyed Shane's death, I'm going to miss him. He was a great character.

I wish they had kept his death closer to the comics. I'm not sure why but I like the idea of Carl killing Shane in defense of his father and then later once Rick finds out the dead reanimate, he leaves the group without an explanation, digs up Shane's grave and then kills him a second time.

Another thing they need to do: Bring back Morgan (Lennie James), the guy Rick was trying to contact over the short wave radio after meeting him in the premiere. Lennie James plays a terrific badass, and the group could use someone like him after the Green Acres portion of the story line is done.
