Skirt steak is great for authentic Mexican dishes -- but the common thread we're seeing here is that so much comes down to preparation. I modest cut of beef can be made wonderful with the right marinade/rub/cooking method. Similarly, a fantastic cut can be destroyed.

All of this talk has me wishing it were grilling season...

People who order well done or medium well are also the people who pour A1 all over it. A good steak does not need sauce or anything but has the juice built in and is best on its own with some seasoning.

The temperature outside does not matter to me. I grill all year long though maybe not as much as summer.

THIS!

When my wife uses steak sauce on a $20 steak I just made that is swimming in its own juice, I want to fucking knock the taste out of her mouth.

a-fucking-men

nothing pisses me off more than when I make steaks (which I am good at) and someone won't even take a bite and they drown it in A1....it's an insult

I do mine well enough that with some marinade or even just salt and pepper....I put nothing on them otherwise when I eat them

If I make steaks at the house for friends I don't even put it out and thankfully have never been asked.

I admit it, I am an A1 tabasco guy at home. If I order a steak out I rarely ever use it.

I still feel that people should be able to eat steak with whatever they want on it, but that's just my opinion.

Well of course they can. I equate it to salt and pepper if you want to keep it simple. I was taught to taste something first before assuming it needs something, but that's all opinion for sure.
