Not at all-it just works to tenderize the meat and act as a vessel for the seasoning. All you taste is the old bay.

Elman Jal peppers - always asked for at every neighborhood party

15-16 jalapeno peppers cut in half lengthwise deseeded
1 Lb of JimmyDean sausage
1 Brick of Cream chz
Parm Chz
Shreaded Chz

Brown sausage
Cool
Mix sausage with 1/2 to 3/4 to whole brick of Cream chz
Shake in parm chz, mix

Stuff sausage mix in peppers
Cook @400 for 15 minutes
Top with sprinkle chz continue baking 2-5 minutes.

I use almost that exact same recipe but in big mushrooms. Your way sounds a hell of a lot better.
