Best K-Cups?

Postby lotus » December 19th, 2011, 12:03 pm

I know you guys have talked about this elsewhere, but any thoughts on best K-cups for a dark/rich blend? I get to order boxes from a local distributor for use in our office Keurig machine and I need to put in my order. They have pretty much everything that's out there for it. Only thing I have ever tried is Green Mountain Sumatran Reserve, but I am thinking about trying this Donut Shop stuff instead.

I like the Donut shop one. The Hazelnut is good. I've also tried the Morning Blend and that's a pretty basic folgers type brand. Those are the only three I've tried so far but have only had the Keurig for about a month now.

That's about all I've had, although I did try a dark roast that was pretty good, but I can't think of its name (yeah, I know, that's a lot of help to you) :) . We're looking for a good supplier of k-cups and would like to have a good assortment on hand. Does you supplier ship to NC?

I can try to find out if they do, though I doubt it. It's a local place, does their own delivery, etc, but maybe they have some thoughts for somebody your way.

Not an amazing deal but better than most stores. It's $13/24 k-cups, not too bad.

What is the benefit to these things over regular coffee makers? Just easier to use?

easier to use, you make what you need, etc

I like(d) it but didn't sometimes...I like dark, bolder coffee and I couldn't really find one strong enough

I like that you can have something fresh whenever you want it, and that the one freak in your office who likes that vanilla cinnamon frappalappamochachokachino doesn't ram it down everyone else's throats. And it's cheaper than hitting Starbucks, which is right outside the door of my office in the music college building. That place is a constant source of temptation.

For kids, it's awesome for hot chocolate as well. You can get the K cups at Sams fairly cheap.

Actually the portions are what make the most sense to me. Not having to brew up 6 cups of the coffee when the wife just wants one.

OK now you've got my interest as a last-minute surprise christmas gift. I'm trying to figure out what the different brewers are and where to get it. Any hints or suggestions?

You can get the basic Keurig brewer pretty much anywhere. I think I saw a commercial the other night for a Mr. Coffee branded brewer that also uses k-cups. I wish they hadn't passed over the single cup pods so quickly. Same basic idea, just cheaper coffee. I guess Keurig drove them out.

Yeah if I get one I'll probably go with the cheapest one, at their website it's 99 bucks. I will stop by Target on my way home and see what they've got.

A guy used to work at the Carl's Junior by my house and he sounded just like that. But not because he was trying to sound funny.

That's a good deal. We get ours for $11/24 most times. Has anyone tried the "jet fuel" k-cups?
