Sublime w/ Rome - Yours Truly

Postby RayRay » July 21st, 2011, 10:03 am

I was skeptical about this but I really like it. There are some old school Sublime jams on there but also some newer sounding material that you can tell is trying to move them forward and not just stick with what worked in the 90's. Rome has the right voice for this group.

Might have to check this out, if only to piss off Nowell's estate.

How do you think his family should have handled it?

He was a dumbass and only 1/3 of the original band. I say natural selection. The other two managed to not kill themselves so I say they should be allowed to continue using the name.

Well except that he trademarked the name. His dad seemed to want to work with them but they just did what they wanted.

If they toured under the name it would only generate interest in the band's old stuff as well, meaning more money for the estate. And let's face it, this was about money. It's not like there is some great honorable legacy to protect here. Your kid was a dumb fuck who OD'd on smack.

Didn't realize Gaugh left the band as well so now there is exactly one original member.
