It's a minimum of 2400 for my height and weight, but when you try to get that in a low Carb, low fat, high protein diet it almost seems like work because you are constantly eating.

Yeah lean proteins are they way to go. Makes you feel full. I'm not following any particular calorie intake myself. Its just too much to take in if your trying to eat healthy.

Had me some "Power Pancakes" this morning, not bad at all. Also had less than 1000 calories overall yesterday, and can't remember the last time I did that. I'm hopeful that even assuming that I can only moderately keep up with the workout programs that I will start to feel better from the dietary changes alone.

I'm hoping to keep it around 1300-1500 to start. Just have to wait and see if I have enough energy with that amount or if I need to bump it up. I have got to shed some weight to be move to the next level anyway, and I'm hoping to concentrate mainly on that first while still working to build muscle mass at a moderate pace. If I could get from my current and frightening 285 down to 225 I feel like I'd be able to concentrate on more of the p90x side of things.

I've been following the recommended diet this week but have not yet started the workouts. Kids have been up past 9:30 every night this week and I have not been motivated enough to start my workout at that time. Need to get my lazy ass in gear and do it. Plus you guys make it sound so appealing.

honestly that's not a bad plan

for me, it is too much to start a new eating habit AND a workout regiment the same day...it was just too much

I started eating better a week or two prior to starting the program and it seemed to be less of a shock
