I've lost 2-3 lbs, but I attribute that to portion control and drinking lots of water.

I noticed today as I was bending over to tie my shoes how much better I'm feeling not having to compress my belly up against my lungs.

I did p90 this morning. Definitely out of shape, but with playing b ball it wasn't as bad as I thought. However, I weighed myself and am not happy. 6'1" 234... very sad. Thought I was around 225.

I won't do P90 yet until I'm comfortable with the gym. I did chest for the first time Tuesday night and tried to do pullups before bed last night, wroooong.

They have a full court but I'm hesitant to run full until I can build my endurance up a little. I was winded from the half court game.

That's why I'm going the Power 90 route and not X. Gotta crawl before I can walk. Of course, rabb may be crawling around by the sounds of it.

How often do you guys weigh yourself? I weigh myself every day and track my meals (just the content, not the calories) and exercise in a spreadsheet. I know it seems like overkill, but I find that keeping a log helps keep my behavior on track. The downside is that when I go up a pound for no apparent reason, I get really bummed out. I've been stuck between 202 and 204 for the last 2 weeks and it's pissing me off.

daily, but I don't put a ton of stock into weight really since as you progress you will gain muscle, which won't show on the scale but might frustrate you although you are losing inches

measuring your waist, hips, etc. is what I recommend doing every few days to really get a feel for your progress

and ptrain, you are doing the right thing, I did power 90 before I started this, it's a good idea

Agreed. I can tell quickly how I'm doing because I drop down in sizes. When I do nothing I wear large shirts but when I'm in shape and working out I can fit into mediums. Pants as well, you'll notice the belt tightening. Don't stress on the scale daily.

yep exactly, if anything it can actually deter and frustrate you to the point that you say "ah fuck it"

it's all about inches lost, and how your clothes fit....it's hard to think that way but after your initial weight loss you will taper off a little and still lose inches I bet

Plus it may be water weight during your menstration cycle Clem which would also explain your moodiness.

Yeah, I know the scale isn't the best indicator. It's just that 200 lbs is a psychological thing for me. It's been at least 4 years since I was under 200. My pants are definitely looser, except in the crotch, and I've moved close to two belt notches. I wish my back would get back to 100% so I could start doing some ballistic lifting again.

Starting with Power 90 is a smart way to go, if you aren't already in pretty good cardio shape the second day of P90x(also know as plyometric hell) will probably make you quit(if you don't die first).

When I started power 90 at the beginning of last summer I was the heaviest I have ever been at 213, three months later I was around 173 which is about right for my build at 6'0". Its definitely a good program. Two weeks into p90x I can tell you that it is an amazing program, that will push you past what you thought were your limits and I'm already doing things I didn't think I would be able to. My first week I was so damn sore it hurt to breathe, but already in my second week my body has adapted and my soreness is pretty minimal. I really liked power 90, I love p90x.

A question I have for the p90x guys: Do you follow the nutrition plan? If not, then what do you do?
