Finally drafted last night...

Postby lotus » August 30th, 2010, 9:14 am

So after much delay and worry, my league finally drafted last night. Was supposed to be at 6:00 PM and I was going to draft 9th in a 12-team league. Well, fate being what it is, it was at 6:30 and I ended up drafting 1st in a 10-team league. It would be fair to say I was little unprepared after the changes. Once I got behind in my tracking it was impossible to catch back up so I had to wing it a little bit. I'm not entirely unhappy with the way things shook out, but it's fair to say that Tony Gonzalez and Ricky Williams were NOT high on my list...

And Cutler? Really?

Not a bad squad. Cutler will get his numbers if you can tolerate the INT's. RB's are studs and WR's will put up good scores. I really like Austin and Colston. Berrian becomes more important with the Rice injury. Your backup RB's scare me a little.

Not as much as they scare me.

Hey, could be worse. One guy "accidentally" drafted free agent Lorenzo Neal and Tony Richardson. Another one, our first time player and only woman in the group, grabbed her kicker and D waaaay too early. We did not correct her.

I think that's imminent.

People said the same thing last year but when you go into fantasy world, not real stats, he could be a top 5-10 QB. The INT's don't have as much of an impact as they do on Jeff's well being (usually -2 per). If he throws for 350yds, 3 TD's with 2 INT's... you'll be a happy camper. I had him and planned on snagging him this year because he delivered almost every week.

He may be OK. I've just been spoiled the past few years with guys like Brees and Romo.

Look at last year (based on standard scoring)

Romo - 267pts
Brees - 280pts
Manning - 272pts

Cutler - 216pts

You are talking no more than 4pts per game between the top guys (excluding Rodgers).

he has a point depending on your scoring format

so, what is your scoring format?

Lee and I shared the same philosophy drafting this year as far as value available later compared to other positions

It's pretty much ESPN standard.
