So juiced over the weekend. Tried Carrot/Apple/Beets/Ginger/Cucumber/Jalapeno/Lemon/Celery in varying combos. Most went well together. Being on blood thinners and concerned about bleeding out to a degree, the Beets gave me a scare as I thought I was pissing blood for a bit. After I figured it out decided to stay away from them. They did make my shits a very pretty shade of violet though.

I cannot do beets. To me, it's like drinking dirt. But, based on my one expericene, I will confirm the color impact on a person's shit.

I've kind of fallen off the the juice train. The major reason is that I'm incredibly lazy and prepping the fruits and veggies, plus cleaning up afterwards is more work than I want most mornings. I know that once my garden starts producing more than I can possibly eat, it should be easier for me to get back to juicing (not that I'll be less lazy, but that my hatred of wasting food will outweigh my laziness).

That sounds like an interesting combo. I hadn't thought of blueberries.

You guys still juicing? I am having back issues again and saw some info on it, along with the concerns with aspertame and all the diet soda I drink. I think that may be contributing to the nerve issues I am having. I started to creep up over 190 (still way down) and want to make sure I can keep the weight off I've lost. My main issue is with energy without caffeine (and nicotine) is that I get that afternoon tired crap. Juicing help with this? I don't think I'll be some hard core guy, but I'd like to add it once a day to start. Just wondering your thoughts? I think sleep may be a huge one for me as well. I just stay up too late.

I would seriously consider a 10 day juice detox, P-train. In fact, I may do one myself after the new year. I've been eating and drinking like a pig since my diet and I've put back on 15 of the 39 lbs I lost.

A 10 day "reboot" won't be easy. The caffeine withdrawl will really kick your ass around day 3. At the end of 10 days, though, you'll be 10-15 lbs lighter, feel a lot more energized and sleep better at night.

I have started a detox of sorts. I have not totally dumped caffeine yet, but am down to one cup and one soda... mostly because I started smoking and chewing here and there and need something to at least still counter the loss of the nicotine. Though, I did plan on cutting that out in a week or so. I don't eat totally like a pig, but I did do some baking for the first time and my pumpkin and apple pies were delish. I normally don't eat hardly anything crappy nowadays except for a few chips and an occasional popcorn or ice cream, but yeah, there's definitely more of it around to munch on this time of year. I may go the juice detox route... we shall see. I'm more of a baby step guy. I think the main issue for me is the diet soda nowadays. I eat pretty healthy, but don't drink much besides coffee and soda. Need to have healthier alternatives than that.

I've creeped up about 8 lbs and just didn't want to get back to the I don't care mode where it get's overwhelming to start back up.

btw, you guys have the good recipes in this link or posted somewhere?

Drinking celery sucks balls. I can handle all the nasty shit so far, but celery just doesn't cut it. I don't mind eating it, but man... I've lost a few pounds, but am more excited that my back got cracked and I got the green light from the chiro to disco inferno workout again. The juicing thing is pretty cool, but the clean up does suck... and is no fun to leave until after work. After over a week of no nicotine, limited caffeine, the veggie/fruit power helps a bit to keep going. AM workouts will hopefully even make it better.

My favorite veggie juice is:
- 2-3 carrots depending on size
- 2-3 stalks of celery depending on size
- half to ful cucumber depending on size
- about 3 cups of packed spinach leaves
- half a lemon
- half an apple
- about a half an inch of fresh ginger

Give that a whirl and tell me what you think.

Also good is just a couple oranages and a few carrots.

And you absolutely have to clean up right away. If you leave that shit until after work, it turns into plaster.

The lemon, apple, and ginger balance out the "earthiness" (for lack of a better word) of the green veggies.
