The Office

Postby miketheknife » February 14th, 2011, 1:19 pm

We just got caught up with the most recent episodes of the Office. I'm sad to know that Steve Carell is on his way out, I wish they wouldn't have publicized that so heavily and they'd made it more of a surprise. The wife doesn't think it will be any good without him, but the more I think about it, you could put any number of people in a similar 'clueless dumbass' role and still have it work. I got excited when David Brent showed up a couple weeks ago and asked if there were any job openings, that would be AWESOME but I guess it was just a cameo.Ah well.

I honestly quit watching after the "Pam has her baby" episode. That kinda felt like the "jumping the shark" moment. Has this season been any good? If Ricky Gervais took over as the new manager, I'd definitely tune back in.

It did seem like a jump the shark moment to me too, in fact that's why it has taken us all this time to get caught up. However, some of the latest episodes have been hilarious. I think they rebounded from the whole boring baby period and in fact there have been some decent gags about Jim & Pam & The Baby in recent episodes.

I still love the show and watch all the new episodes.

This season has been better than last IMO, even though they are working on Steve Carrell leaving. The way I see it playing out this season is he'll leave with Holly if she gets transfered again.
The last few shows have had some classic Office-style comedy. Will Farrel is suppose to cameo a few episodes this season. If they do choose to continue the show after this season it won't be easy to replace an actor with a better character than Michael Scott!

I agree that they've done well getting past the baby thing and have turned it into some good jokes.

Yeah I have not tired of the show at all. They really have a lot of great characters in the office that they can focus on though Carrel is the glue to the show.

This exactly. They'll spend part of a show with Pam and Jim trying to fix a serious problem and suddenly Kevin or Creed will jump in with a one-liner that just kills.
I will admit that Dwight hasn't seemed as vengeful as usual lately though.

Not since he completely dominated Jim in the snowball episode. Here's a thought, Dwight has been slowly gaining power through buying the building, and now he's defeated his greatest rival--assuming Sabre promotes from within, I'd like to see an episode or two of him running the place. It wouldn't last long but man would it be funny--remember when MIchael thought he was getting the NYC promotion and Dwight took over for a day?

Im still in season one on NF, I love the show, but my wife hates it. I caught a few episodes after Jim n Pam got married, and they were pretty meh!

I would love an episode that is Creed centric but he probably is best with the little bits here and there rather than focus on him.

They should go back and show all the creepy shit he's done in episodes we are really familiar with.

That is awesome and he is a great character. Seems they just need to give him a line or two episode and they are always great.

My favorite Creed moment was when he took a photo of the chick breastfeeding, and then I think he made it his desktop background didn't he? Can't find a video of it.
