Anybody else see this. I do not go to the movies very often but I am glad I went and watched it. I enjoyed from begining to end.

The trailers compare this to "the Departed" and that is one of my favorite movies. Whats the basic plot line without giving too much up about it.

The story is about a town in Boston called Charlestown, they had a quote at the begining about the number of bank robbers that have grown up there. Basically Affleck character is a "good" guy who went down the wrong path following in his fathers footsteps as a bank robber. The movie opens with them robbing a bank and taking the assistant manger hostage. He then purposely meets her again to make sure she doesn't have any info on them and he ends up falling in love and wanting to leave his life of crime behind and get out of Boston. That the basics.

Great flick. Affleck is a good director and even though the film is not on the level of The Departed (it's actually on a much smaller scale thatn that), it does draw comparisons and rightfully so. The acting is top notch and the heist plot is so much more believable than that Takers crap I saw a couple of weeks earlier.

Here is my review

How is Jon Hamm in it? Being a huge Mad Men fan, it is interesting to see him as a different character.

Hamm is good. The character is not as good as his Mad Men one, but he does well with the role. I actually believed he could be a decent cop.

Awesome Awesome movie. After watching twice I think I can now knock over banks for a living. My wife even liked it even though Tyler Perry wasnt involved with it!!!

Great movie, I truly enjoyed this, and Jeremy Renner was phenomenal. I don't care what people say about Affleck, he's a talented MOFO man...this movie had passion and plucky spirit as Chainsaw and Dave would say, 2 thumbs way up here....

I watched this again over the holidays. Good stuff.

We have a friend of the family who visited during the holidays that grew up in that area and he was bragging how accurate the film was as far as the locale and general feel of the area is concerned.
