Watched Badass. The movie is (very) loosely based on Epic Beard Man and his beat down of the "someone call the ambalamps, I'm leaking" kid

It has Danny Trejo as EBM and it starts with him beating up 2 white skinheads on the bus and from there it blows up into a story of a corrupt mayor (Ron Perlman) using crime to get people to sell their homes/land on the cheap to get access to it. Along the way, EBM's best friend is killed and he goes on a ass beating spree to seek revenge.

Was actually a decent movie

Watched John Carter tonight. Two things:

1 - Disney really screwed the pooch marketing this film
2 - I wasn't expecting much because of that, and was pleasently surprised

I had picked up the 1st book in the series and will probably give it a read after seeing the movie

I thought the movie was decent too. However, they changed a whole bunch of stuff for the movie.... and the book is waaaaaaaaaaaay better

I couldn't even finish John Carter. My wife and one daughter fell asleep 20 minutes into it. Oldest daughter didn't look up from her iPod after 10 minutes into it. Other daughter who loves action movies admitted she hated it after I asked if I could turn it off after an hour.

I got around to watching The Grey. Decent movie. My favorite quote:

Watching "Mirror Mirror" right now with the kiddos. Surprise cameo at the end by a famous actor I think you would recognize...

When I saw that I said to my wife 'that fucking guy is everywhere'. He is like the late 90's William H Macy

Soon as I saw him, I said to myself, "Self, this is not going to be a happy ending after all..."

FWIW, my 8 year-old just told me, "Daddy, this is the BEST MOVIE EVER!"
