Opening Day

Postby Jammer » March 28th, 2012, 6:59 am

For the two of us that care about baseball. I hate the season opening in Japan but love waking up and having a ball game on.

It must burn Lotus that the Cincinnati tradition of opening the season is long gone.

Yeah it does look like a tough year for the Cubs.

As far as the Cubs go, I like the long term emphasis on scouting to build a perennial contender. The difference between Theo and Hendry is that Theo wants to build the farm system with the emphasis on players who will contribute. Hendry built the farm system only as fodder for major trades to justify his position with the team.

I can live with a few more down years considering we have a front office who has proven themselves in scouting potential major league talent.

I likely am the only one that watched today but ended up being a good extra inning game. Plus League is on a fantasy keeper of mine (draft is coming up) and got the save.

I have mediocre hopes. I think the Crew will be better than last year. We shall see.

Never seen this before where the Cardinals and Marlins open up tomorrow night but it is only a 1 game series.

The only time I remember seeing a 1 game series (not tiebreaker) is when it is a rain makeup game.

I thought it was an opening day deal last year as well though. I am most likely wrong.

Maybe I'm just thinking a game then a day off, then the rest of the series.
