Season Awards

Here we can discuss the awards for the season once they start handing them out. Biggest debate will likely be NL Rookie of the Year where you have Heyward and Posey (who FB thinks should win it).

Posey. Bigger finish, Heyward slumped some towards the end, didn't he? Still, both very good young players, obviously.

Posey by far

Kid stepped in after 60 games and handled the best rotation in the bigs all the way through the WS. His numbers are better than Heywards too arent they?

You are looking at Posey through your Giants colored glasses. Granted the kid is good and remember postseason does not count towards the award. My guess is Heyward will win it.

Jeter winning a gold glove this season is one of the biggest jokes I have ever heard of with awards.

Come on. I'm surprised 5 Yankees didn't get gold gloves. They aren't known for their offense. Its their defense. Everything about the Yankees makes me crap blood. There are at least 5 SS in the AL that are better... AT LEAST. But, the Yanks are the Yanks and baseball continues to find a way to suck. Hey, we can't get the big market teams in the World Series, so we'll find a way to get them awards they don't deserve to inflate the stats, awards, hype, etc. of those players. A gold glove should be F'N simple. Minimum number of plays needed divided into the number of plays made minus the errors. No... let's make it a popularity contest. At least the Silver Slugger award has some basis to it, but even those are crap.

I havent seen a stat breakdown, but he is better at his position than Heyward and a better hitter in fewer at bats no?

Braun and Gallardo got Silver Slugger Awards. Yay! Posey and Heyward both had good rookie campaigns.

So the voters took into account that King Felix didn't get any run support and awarded him the AL Cy Young despite only winning 13 games.
