I played the shit out of this game this weekend, I would continue to be playing but its football time. I can honestly say this is the best game I have played yet this year. I understand there are a ton of great titles coming out over the next few months but if you were on the fence I would tell you to buy it. :z5:

Also DLC on the way : http://www.trueachievements.com/n5394/d ... tailed.htm

Oh, I'm definitely going to buy it. I'm just not going to buy it one week before Gears 3 comes out. After the holidays, this and Deus Ex are going to be at the very top of my purchase list.

Likewise, I definitely want to try it out, just not in the budget given the other must-buys for me in the next couple of months.

I know i've asked for a lot of stupid details about this game and i've probably even already asked this, but is there local split-screen co-op?

I am playing this game a la' Sabres style (solo only), as I want to search around without someone rushing me along...I am absolutely loving it thus far, but for one issue: The save/checkpoint function. I played and played last night waiting to see the biohazard save symbol pop up because it was nearing my bed time (8:30  ), but nothing seemed to trigger it...I fast traveled, completed missions, but still it failed to save. I saw the word "checkpoint" appear in the bottom left, but no biohazard save sign...at that point I just crossed myself and turned the game off...Anyone know the trick to getting a save spot? Also, I died twice in the same spot and wanted to "load the last checkpoint" rather than lose a fat stack of bills, but I was afraid it would put me WAY back, as I had not seen a checkpoint pop for quite some time...

I am only level 8, but this game really plays well with my obsessive need to search things, open containers, wander off course...it's a shame so many other games are dropping over the next two months, as this could certainly be the next Borderlands otherwise.

I am pretty sure it saves you as you exit the game and yes that song in the beginning is fun to listen to!

not that I see

I LOVE this game so far as well Bas (*gasp*....could we actually play together?!?!?!), aside from the one mission glitch fuck you juice packs I haven't had an issue yet although I have been manually saving just in case and I guess I do notice when I restart sometimes I am not in the same location as I was but my progress is saved

HOW do you manually save??? I'm going to feel really stupid if you tell me this is actually possible...I thought I would lose my mind last night from the hand-wringing I was doing over possibly forfeiting 3 hours of progress when shutting down the game...

I won't be playing with anyone until I finish it Sabre-style first...and by that time, I'm sure NO ONE will still be playing...But if by some miracle you are, then I welcome the opportunity to slay zombies with you! :bas:

Damn Spotify just let me down. Did a search for Dead Island hoping for the "Who Do You Voodoo Bitch" song but it wasn't there. Only had the music for the original trailer of the game.

when you go to the menu (I want to say start button, I will confirm a little later this morning) it's not really that obvious and I noticed it on accident thinking the same thing as you, there is a prompt to hit "Y" to quit which I believe invokes auto-save

I know you are supposed to be able to walk into a safe house to kick that off as well

I know I will catch some shit, but I won't be dumping the game any time soon so hopefully we can play, I am a little gun shy about co-op right now because when Jammer joined me, it messed up one of my quests

And since there hasn't been a patch yet I am not sure if that co-op mess up was an odd occurrence or a current problem.

I don't know if it was a "patch" but I had an update yesterday when I fired it up

What was your glitch with the juice packs mission? I have done it twice with no issue.

I absolutely love this game, I am 85% through the campaign and honestly feel like I want to go and complete it again with each character.

Also have played quite a few mission co-op and it makes it even more enjoyable.
