When you think you cant love amazon more

I was gonna mention some of the more interesting apps I've came across on the Amazon page and then I came across the 'Menstruation and Ovulation' calendar app for $2.99. What a deal!

Im still doing a ton of research this morning and plan on picking one up today. Wanted to share this article I came across on side loading. It has step by step instructions.

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2396283,00.asp

If anyone does not have a Android phone in here, let me know and I will get you the app you desire and email you the .apk files.

I picked up the fire at lunch today, scored one for 179.99 as it was an open box. Went to chick filla for lunch and they had wifi so I was able to set it up and download a few thing. I like how it pulls all my apps from my amazon app store on my phone.

I will play with it more when I get home but so far I like it.

Second OTA update on the way to fix some user issues:
http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/11/2629 ... -two-weeks

I am glad to see Amazon is listening to Fire owners and quickly updating the software.

Also found a good blog with Kindle fire info:

I read some articles on that as well but I'm happy with mine. It does exactly what I thought it would/wanted it to.

The improvements will include performance updates and (finally) the ability to edit the list of recently used items on the home-screen carousel.

I'm happy about this one. That's one minor issue that kinda irked me.

I've also started watching some movies/standup comedy specials I've missed in the past and began watching Sons Of Anarchy with the Prime membership and I'm pretty sure for that reason along the 2-day shipping deal is gonna sell me on renewing that for a year.

I haven’t experienced any of the issues that other people are bitching about and I use mine daily. Only thing that I don't like is the amount of pressure when selecting something, I can never seem to get it right without the perfect finesse.

It will be nice if you can remove items from the home screen, they pile up all the way back to when I first powered it on.

I like mine as well. I haven't used it a ton with trying to hide it from the kids, but it works well. There are some issues, but seriously? hitting the power button? that person is a moron.

Re: When you think you cant love amazon more

Postby Clem » December 30th, 2011, 11:19 am

After looking up "Kindle Fire Scratch" on both Google and the Amazon website to see if there was anything I could do to buff the scratch out of my screen, the only thing I found was a YouTube video of a guy assaulting his screen with car keys, an Exacto knife, and a screwdriver without leaving a mark. Frankly, I'm not sure what I did to scratch my screen, but I sure as hell didn't do any of that to it.

So, I call Amazon and ask them if they know of a way to polish out a scratch. Amazon's response: "We'll overnight you a new one".

Holy fuck-a-moly, I was floored. Seriously, as much as I love Amazon, this is a level of customer service that will earn my business for the rest of my life. Wow. Just wow.
