In SW Galaxies you had to actually set your tag to empire or rebellion and that would allow you to attack or be attacked by players of the other faction at any time who had their tag set. So if you wanted to just hang around and hunt AI all the time you could do it without being attacked by level 50 assholes out of the blue everywhere.
Sorry didn't mean for it to sound that way. To expose my level of NURD, like you didn't know. PvP for me because I do enjoy the threat of having to keep looking over your shoulder for bad guys, but it does suck when some jerkhole just decides to just murder lowbies. RP is too much for me though. I do leave the RP channel open just to see what other people are typing which is good for a laugh sometimes.
LOTRO was PvE only really, PvP was outside the core game, and for me it lacked something because I never had to worry about a bad guy that wasn't a mob. Which is nice starting out but it got stale starting to get into the higher levels only having to worry about running around and getting that mystical toejam of Scree for the dwarf with turf toe. Raids/dungeons were fun and all but can't be the only thing to do IMO.
Sorry for the long response, work is slow today.
