Home against the Hot Atlanta Hawks (4-2), the Charlotte Bobcats (3-2) defend their building and defeat the Hawks by 20 points on Friday Night. With a strong offensive contribution of 24 points and 5 of 6 from uptown (Time Warner Cable Arena is located in Uptown Charlotte) from wrist injured Raja Bell and 18 boards from Gerald Wallace the Bobcats win their 3rd home game 103-83.
Bell stated, “Right now it aches a little bit, but when you get a good adrenaline flow going it really only hurts when it’s a situational thing.”
The Bobcats with the lowest scoring average in the league really had strong contributions from players that have not really stepped up yet. Ronald “Flip” Murray who made his debut against his former team contributed 12 point toward the win.
From a game like this, you know that the Bobcats have many different players that can really step up. This team really does have the talent. Bell has the opportunity to continue playing his game offensively and really keep the team in the games that they are not favored and win the games that they are supposed to. Friday night it was Bell, it could be Gerald another night, then DJ, Raymond, Boris or Tyson Chandler on any given night.
“We had so many guys contribute tonight,” Charlotte coach Larry Brown said.
The next stop is @Chicago on Saturday Night. This will be a challenge. They should have success if they continue to use this “contribution from many guys” concept.
Looking past that, (and we still want to take this one game at a time) the first place Orland Magic come to town on Tuesday; let’s see how we defend home court against the new Superman Dwight Howard.
